location shots

This is a shot of  brick lane and we went to shot in this location for the music video  is known for its graffiti and artistry in which creates a fun and urban vibe. This is a stereotypical convention used when portraying a 90s Hip Hop genre.therefore will be used within our print products. It is also a location that has been used throughout our music video which immediately create a link between our print product and music video.

chreography

The two actors jordanah and jasmine has prepared choreography for the music video and they have decide to consider the themes and create a chrography that appeals to this. therefore the performance has to be energetic and youthful and they understand the narrative , and they created a choreography to reflect this

Research Part 2

The research we carried out for our target audience is for our music video is 60% female and 40% male  and this would be 16-25 year olds that are interested in the hip hop mainstream .
The feedback we received feedback was a mixture of both criticism and positive feedback . The people that gave us the feedback back are similar age range to our potential target audience therefore the feedback what they have to give had that extra purpose and validation to us . Overall the feedback that we got was positive . The audience liked the concept of the locations because they thought that it represented the concept of our music video very well and that it really represented and this was good for us because we got an insight on what our potential target audience would find interesting about our music video however one of the criticism we got was how were we gonna make this music video different from any other 90's or 90 theme music video .
And explained our  music video would be different  because 90's RnB is associated with USA and not the UK and being able to channel this in another way but from the UK it is something commonly seen and that's the element to what makes the music video different.
The audience research is different to the audience research I carried out in AS because I feel as thought music video is a wider audience because music videos are seen everyone on technology and easily assess able whereas with a music magazine weren't as popular yet finding information about the target audience on music magazines are a lot more easier than finding information  on a music video. The software's (inforgram)used to gather the analysis on our music magazine and music video were the same type of software that allowed us to create statics and have an other view of race , ethic background  and gender .
We looked into the younger side of our target audience which is the 16 year olds and we thought that this would appeal to them because of vibrant effects and the connation of young love and the coming of age for teenagers whereas on the other side of our target audience for the 25 year olds.  They mainly grew up listening to this type of music therefore it would be like a time capse for them to see it in a modern way,

Research part 1

In the process of upcoming to our music video , we looked an a music video by an artist called Ariana Grande and we looked at her song called Problem and we looked into the synopsis and the performance of the music video and the narrative of the music video and this was a step to help with the analysis of the initial ideas and our cast studies. Earlier than looking into our initial ideas in a different group , the group and I  had a music video practice to get to know what for the process of our own music videos and we even looked at editing  and had to look at how the software works for us and get to know what editing will be like.
We them looked into initial ideas and these ideas were the look we planned to look at for our music video and we had to present this on different media platforms and the songs I looked into was J hus featuring Burna Boy - good time , Heather Harley - I wish I wasn't and Migos - out yo way . I presented this on google slides , prezi and emaze and I looked into the music videos to see what the narrative of the song is , looking to see what their narrative presents and how it's reflected in the lyrics and what kind     of narrative ideas I had for the music video also. Another thing I looked into was the type of actors and props and the location needed and I had to look into the lyrics and see what type of actors and props would relate to the song and what location is song reflecting .
I always had to analyse the promo video and how it could be better and what would make the promo video better . After the initial ideas I looked into 3 existing music videos as case studies ( Rihanna , Bryson Tiller featuring DJ Khaled , J-hus Common sense , Migos- get right witcha)  and I had to look into similarly to the initial ideas  the synopsis of the music video and whether the video was conceptual , narrative or performance but it was more in depth because I looked at how the character were represented including the author age , what the song is representing , and the roles of performance during the music videos . I looked at for all the music video the camera angles , mise en scene and the editing techniques analysing each video and giving a representation for the different camera angles and mise en scene and editing techniques and looking for any connation within the music video . Another thing I've looked at was the target audience for each music video looking at the connation and what the connotations means for the music video and how is a specific age group reflected and how are they encouraged to buy their record their social media , the music video itself and the song release platforms.
After looking into these I now had to thing about what ideas I can add to my own music video looking into props and mise en scene and camera angles I could use .
Doing this research has strength my skills since AS from the NWE music magazine analysis because I have to look at my case studies  in as much detail as possible because I've haven't made a music video before and doing this analysis and looking into not only just target audience and conations and detonations but you have to think as if you were the editor and the director and the stylist and the promotor for the music video so that you are able to understand and analyse the music video without thinking very briefly  and putting yourself into all these different roles to get a better viewpoint of the music video.

narrative planning

As a group with started off by annotation the lyrics for the song together and we separated the lyrics in duration and looked into the lyrics to make sure that the theme and connations in the music video and story boards would be able to come across well because we were going to use the story boards as briefing for our scenes and if the analysis didn't match it could effect our whole  music video.  We then went on to create 6 mind maps because of the annotation and calculating the duration we would have throughout our music video 6 separate scenes in the music video .

We then came up for some initial notes to go towards our storyboards , each team member gave initials ideas on each scene so that all of our input can be given. One of the problem that we didn't understand the story boards as well as we should so therefore the first few initial ideas were getting confused and then we started to become confused with the narrative of the music video but we solve this but reviewing what we were actually meant to put onto the storyboards and the narrative become clear.  Our storyboards sheets were........
In AS the planning and mock up didn't have to be sketches , You could use a technology software to get the point across for your magazines  and this can be efficient too and for magazines this could be enough to reflect our magazines yet if you wanted to do mock ups by sketch they didn't have to be done in lots of detail as look as it looked like something you could work from where as in A2 because we are creating a music video in such as quick amount of time we have be very organised and detailed in our planning therefore storyboards couldn't be on an technology software because it needed as much detail as possible for us to have hard evidence of our organisation and will take the process of our music video quicker without any mistakes.

As a group we manage our time by keeping by having a schedule timetable and that show a routine in when everyone is able to take part of filming and to make sure that we all meet deadlines , we would all give ourselves different task to do and by the end of the lesson all the task would have been completed and this comes to understanding our time management whereas when i came to the creation of my music magazine having to work around other people time was different because we worked on our music magazines by ourselves .

For research and planning , as well as using our blogs we used different technology platforms such as prezi, emaze and youtube and google and this was used in the pre-production stages and the case studies to show that we know a variety of media platforms and this is very similar to last year in case studies and even making the evaluation and music magazines with soft wares such as Photoshop and illustrator.

logistic planning

For the music video we had looked into a lot of preparation into the actors, location and filming . This was to make sure that everything we did in the music video would be more organised and different issues wouldn't interrupt the schedule of filming and the locations that we use were approved so that we wouldn't have to any last minute changes to our music video.
First of all we started on organised the actor and making sure the have signed that they signed an agreement  of the talent release form saying that we permission for them to be filmed , just to confirmed that they know that they will be film for the purpose of a the music video and that they understand what they needed for.

We also had a call sheet that the contained the location of filming and the amount of actors used and what time the actors will be needed for the location that we were filming in which was the TV studio . The call sheet also stated my group and that we would be the director and producers of the music video and the light that we would use which was artificial lighting for the lights in the TV studio and which team member would be taking care of costume on that day of filming . Costume were looked into detailed for the music video and makeup too and this analysis keeps filming session organised and not trying figure our things such as costume as the last minute.

Having using a song that's not been produced by us we had to e-mail RCA records which is the record label that produced the SWV- into you Taji remix and because of copyright permission we sent them an e-mailed them letting them know that we would be using there song to put into the music video for a media student project. And this falls in to the rest of the check that we had to do so we created as part of our pre production a risk assessment and this risk assessment staments what the type of risk that can take place whilst filiming and who can be effected by these risk and how we can reduce the risk whilst shooting one example of a risk is tripping and this can effect cast and crew and how we can prevent this is by tying up cables .

We also analyse or summarise the location in our reeces  where we looked at all these different factors of the locations such as the set-up and the area of the locations and see whether or not the location consistent of all these different things so we have a better understanding of our location which are , Shore ditch, basketball court , Hackney Wick, tv studio, God own juckyard and Photography studio.

Team meeting happen through what app messages and we discussed the different roles we had to take on in the production of the music video that means organising the call sheet , release forms , creating different timetables around all of our schedules and this is different from when i were creating our magazines because  it was less of team work when planning and preparing my magazines and this means that you have to be able to consider other people sheuclues and times however the production can  be similar in  terms of locations like tv studio and photography studio and the organisation that you would have to take for booking would be a similar process of finding out whether or not it okay to use a space for taking your magazine and looking for another and making sure that the actors are  apart of the call sheet and that they knew that their pictures were being used and they had to sign the call sheets .
Even though in A2 the preparation for our music video requires a lot more confirmation because we will be putting the music videos on a platform and this could effect us if we put anything that shouldn't be there onto our media platforms whereas AS the production didn't require much confirmation yet the production such as pitches and looking into location are similar to A2 but AS is based of more research in the preparation stages.

First day of editing

on the first day of editing we collect the footage and the song and we began looking into the humourous sections of the video and just worked on the first stages of the music video that we can put in but we needed to get more footage in different location for the music video to come together , so wee decided to create different timetable of filming so we can have most of our footage to work from briefly,

First day of filiming

On the first day of filming , we booked to have the TV studio and the this wasz the most effeienct time for us to start filming some footage . When we got into the studio we set up the background and the background we chose was the black back drop because overall it mad the footage look clean and professional . We set up the tribord and the camera and we shot in different angles using a midshot , long shots to show the performance of the shots and we added a extreme close up in to the footage so that we have a range of shots to choose from .

Lyrics annotation

As a group we look into the lyrics and we began to annotate on the lyrics because this could work out on the duration of our storyboards and what we have to for the different scenes in the story board and creative an imagery that can actually relate to the lyrics and put this in the music video and then it would seem more relevant to the lyrics .

Copy right permission

To make sure and show evidence that we understand the  process of the copyright , a member of our crew for the music video Jordanian e-mailed and send a direct message to RCA record just asking them for the permission to use their created song in our music video and that the project wouldn't be shown on TV or any type of adversting.
